Che is the visionary and creator of the infamous Unicorn Cup, what started as an invite only special event hosted at Rosebud Lake where the best growers of the Kootenay's would come together to proudly display their craft cannabis.

His passion for cannabis and cannabis culture inspired him to gather his friends once a year, bringing the best of their cannabis together to showcase and compare. Hosting an unforgettable weekend of friends, music, art , lakeside forest camping and of course, cannabis culture at its roots, the foundation of an amazing gathering started to take shape. When the timing felt right, Che transitioned this special invite only event to the broader British Columbia community and beyond.

As a leader in the community, Che can be found on the front line of curating the best of the cannabis culture, year after year, bringing undeniable value to the event space. With this incredible team of dedicated people, the Rosebud Bowl comes alive to provide inspiration for all those who attend.

Cesar Omar, originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, comes from a technical and analytical background. He holds a degree in Business Administration, and his professional experience has largely been shaped by two industries: fashion and media.

He moved to Canada in 2018, the same year cannabis was legalized nationwide. Fun fact: his birthday is October 17th, the very day legalization is celebrated.

Cesar’s relationship with cannabis began during a period of burnout, when a specialist recommended it as part of a path toward balance. Having the legal market in B C, he found a new perspective that helped him shift into a healthier, more grounded lifestyle.

Bringing together a business mindset with the creativity he’s developed through his professional journey, Cesar supports the team on the administrative and organizational side. He’s passionate about building processes, solving problems, and keeping things running smoothly. He strongly believes in the balance between hard work and just vibing.

Marcel Charette brings a genuine, easygoing energy to his first year as a Rosebud Bowl coordinator. A long time Kootenay resident since 1992, Marcel is deeply connected to the local community and has spent more than two decades volunteering as the lighting director for the Rossland Light Opera Players.

With a professional background in sales and IT, and experience coordinating events in past workplaces, Marcel enjoys helping bring people together in meaningful ways. His introduction to the Rosebud Bowl community began two years ago when he spoke in the Cannabis Connoisseurs Sommelier Insights session, and that experience sparked his excitement to help support the event more directly.
A daily consumer for 35 years, Marcel approaches cannabis with curiosity, respect, and a passion for education. Over the last six years, he has recorded more than 1,500 cannabis video reviews, helping people understand flavour profiles, terpene expressions, effects, and product nuances. His work emphasizes informed, responsible, and stigma free cannabis appreciation, and he has toured local cultivation facilities while building relationships with industry growers and advocates.

As a coordinator, Marcel is organized, calm under pressure, and genuinely excited to help others deepen their understanding of cannabis grading and scoring. Above all, he values the chance to meet people from across the cannabis community and contribute to an event built on passion, learning, and connection.

Russell Bennett became a lawyer in 1997 prior to establishing a career in film and theatre production. In 1998, Bennett produced and co-directed the documentary STONED: Hemp Nation on Trial, which followed the trial of Christopher Clay, owner of Hemp Nation, Canada’s first hemp store. STONED premiered on CBC and was nominated for Best Political Documentary at Hot Docs International Documentary Film Festival. In 2004, Bennett co-wrote and performed The Reefer Man, a multi-character solo play that told the story of a lawyer who grows award-winning marijuana in his basement and becomes an underground cannabis superhero. Bennett toured the play to fringe festivals and professional theatres across Canada. After the birth of his first of three children, Bennett returned to the practice of insolvency and fraud recovery law. On April 20, 2018, Bennett founded Cannabis Law, Barristers & Solicitors, a full-service cannabis law firm to help and protect small businesses and entrepreneurs as they grow. To understand legalization, Bennett wrote the book, Canada's Cannabis Act: Annotation & Commentary, of which the third edition, 2021-2022, has just been published. Bennett posts on matters relating to cannabis and the law at cannabislaw.ca, and hosts the podcast Cannabis Law in Canada, which features long-form interviews with industry and legal experts. Bennett's next initiatives are a mini-documentary series on the state of the cannabis industry, creating an online DIY site to help people with non-violent cannabis offences obtain their own pardons and expungements, and a course on how to obtain micro production/processing licences and create a profitable craft cannabis business.
